Base Salary: $95,000 – $120,000 / year (commensurate with experience)

Relocation: Relocation assistance available

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Senior Facilities Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, safety, and infrastructure of a 70,000 sq. ft. technical campus across two adjacent buildings. This site includes engineering labs, clean rooms, manufacturing spaces, and corporate offices.

In this role, you will lead a small facilities team, manage contractors, partner with landlord representatives, and ensure critical building systems maintain maximum uptime to support mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Operations: Direct daily operations across 70k sq. ft. of lab, clean room, manufacturing, and office space. Implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs for HVAC, compressed air, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, humidification, and thermal chamber systems.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule facilities personnel (2 direct reports); foster team accountability and operational excellence.
  • Vendor & Landlord Management: Oversee contractors, negotiate service contracts, solicit competitive quotes, and act as the primary liaison to property management/landlord.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to OSHA standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and facility security protocols.
  • Project & Budget Management: Manage departmental expenditures, assist with annual capital budgeting, and coordinate facility renovations, lab reconfigurations, and infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive facilities management experience with a degree (10+ years required without a degree).
  • Technical Environment: Prior experience managing engineering labs, clean rooms, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or R&D facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of commercial MEP/HVAC, compressed air, building automation, and fire protection systems, plus basic hands-on repair skills for minor fixes.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or Business preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing direct reports, supervising vendors, and driving safety programs.
